[DeedMapper Fact Sheet]

How It Works

DeedMapper has Deed Entry Form where you enter the information from your deed, including the survey description. Once that is done, the parcel is automatically plotted and shown in the Plot View).

The Plot View can also contain DeedMapper maps of your research area. It's in this window that you "drag" plots with the mouse, fit them together with other plots, and place them on the maps.

Suppose you know that your plot shares various lines with a Smith and a Carter? Just use the Find command to find Smith's and Carter's plots so you can fit your plot with theirs! In this way you can create groups of plots that are neighbors to each other.

If one or more of the plots in the group have lines that follow the meanders of a stream or river, you'll probably be successful matching those meander lines to a stream in one of DeedMapper's maps, thus allowing you to accurately place the whole group of plots!
