Jacob's story is a bit unsure. He is said to have married
Camolia (Camelia?) Painter in 1876 but in 1880 he is listed
as single and living with his parents. Given the ages of
his children it appears more likely he married after 1880, but
then to whom?
There's another Jacob Broyles of about the same age in the area,
Jacob Newton Broyles of Greene Co.
Jacob's second wife Sarah remarried in 1906, which suggests
Jacob's prior death, but some sources say he lived to 1920.
