Archibald never married.  

He is presumed to be the Archibald Broyles buried at Pleasant
Hill Methodist Church on Horse Creek.  (Archibald is a rare
name, and the Archibald Broyles of Washington Co. lived past
1900.)  His tombstone has the inscription "Co. E 4th Tenn. Inf.",
indicating his service in the Civil War.
