Sons James and William are mentioned as John's sons in deeds in 
1833 and 1834.

1819...1850 - John is listed on the tax list of Whitley Co., KY.  
By 1825 he had acquired 160 acres on Patterson Creek, and it is 
there that he stayed, apparently for the rest of his life.
The land appears to have been purchased from William Bryant.  
This is interesting when we consider that his wife was a Bryant, 
or had married a Bryant.
