Co., TN, to his brother Jeremiah.  [3]10:59

12 Jan 1793 - In Grant No. 1159, James Broyles is granted 200 
acres on the west side of Horse Creek, adjoining Emanuel Sedusky, 
deceased.  On the same date, by Grant 1167, he is also granted 
200 acres on the west side of Horse Creek, adjoining Jacob 
Broyles, and John Waddle.  [87]:436,438

28 Mar 1795 - He is taxed for 200 acres in Washington Co., TN, 
but is called James "of Greene Co."

            - James moves to Washington Co., TN.

       1797 - He is taxed for 200 acres in Washington Co., TN.

 3 Aug 1801 - He buys 145 acres from William Brown on the south 
side of the Nolachuckey River, Washington Co., TN.  [1]

1814...1819 - He is on the tax list of Washington Co., TN.  His 
land holdings are approximately 560 acres.

11 Feb 1820 - James patents 20 acres south of the Nolachuckey, 
adjoining Adam Painter and Julius Broyles.  [1]  

23 May 1823 - John Waddill names James Broyles Sr., and John Gray 
as executors of his will.  [122]:191

11 Jan 1827 - He patents 100 acres on Beard's Creek, south side 
of the Nolachuckey, joining Adam Painter.  [1]  

   Jan 1828 - James Broyles Sr. is qualified as executor of John 
Waddill.  [122]:191

30 Sep 1835 - He patents 69 acres from the state of TN. joining 
Adam Painter, dec'd. and Julius Broyles.  [122]:279

17 Jul 1837 - James makes his will.  All of the children, with 
the exception of Frances, are mentioned, as well as wife Ellender 
who is appointed executor.  wit: Joseph West, Jacob F. Broyles, 
Angus Grahal  [122]:279

 7 Nov 1839 - The will is probated.  [3]1:79
