       1739 - Christley Browel is on the list of titheables in
Orange Co., VA., in James Pickett's precinct.  His brother Conrad 
is given as "Browel", though Jacob is "Broil".  The name is 
clearly Christley, not Urseley.  Comparing his location in the 
list to the "Carpenter Map" of original patent holders, we can 
estimate that he was probably living with or near Mathew Smith. 

       1744 - Jacob and Conrad sell their portion of their 
father's estate.  It appears only four heirs were alive or in the 
area at this time.  Jacob, Conrad, and Catherine are known 
children.  This leaves one other unnamed child.
