25 Jan 1808 - Matthias sells to John Broyles 110 acres, and 14

- About this time they moved to Rutherford Co., Tenn.
1810 - He is listed on the Rutherford Co., Tenn. census
rolls. He has 1 son and 5 daughters. [5]63:31
1818 - He is administrator of his father's will. [3]4:25
1820 - Matthias is listed on the Rutherford Co., Tenn.

1830 - He is listed in the census of Rutherford Co., Tenn.

1831 - He is administrator of his son Alfred Broiles. [3]4:25
1840 - He is not to be found in the census records of
Rutherford Co. His son Joel is in Coffee Co., Tenn. and has a
woman named Anna Broiles, aged 60-70, living with him. This
would appear to be the widow of Matthias, however, it isn't clear
if this refers to Nancy Smith, or whether Anna is a second wife.
