George was a pioneer settler of Madison Co., AL. The following
article, which appeared in the "Huntsville (AL) Advocate", on
June 16, 1877, explains this:

"History continued - The first settlement made where New Market
now stands was that of two brothers, George and Jacob Broiles.
They came to this country in 1806 and selected that spot for
their home. First employed themselves in deadening timber and
clearing land and in the course of a year or two had a pretty
little farm. Settlers came in rapidly and other industries than
farming were demanded. George Broiles built the first blacksmith
shop in that part of what is now Madison Co. In 1808 the first
tan yard in the county or state was begun by one Trump in the
vicinity of Broiles' Farm..." [19]59

The record on George's children is not too clear. The
traditionary names are George, Frank, Robert, and Whitten.
References to George, Frank, and Robert have been found. The
daughters given above are taken from Madison Co. marriage
records. The record on George's brother Jacob's family is much
clearer, and since they were the only residents of the county, it
is safe to assume the marriage records refer to children of
George.

    c. 1787 - George's father, Adam, moves the family from North
Carolina to Washington Co., TN.

Perhaps this is the Trump referred to in the article quoted
above.

"surviving administrator", which means that George has died.
Mary Thompson (widow of said Willy Davis and now wife of Malcolm
Thompson) and George Davis, infant child of said Willy Davis
dec'd entitled to equal distribution. Madison Co., AL. [19]4
The delay in settlement may have been caused by waiting for
Wiley's son to reach age.

1840 - Catherine Broils is listed as a head of household
in Jackson Co., AL. Sons George and Robert are living nearby.
