Keith questions whether Julius was a son of Benjamin
because Benjamin would have been but 19 when Julius was
born. But he identifies three proofs:
1. We know Benjamin had a son Julius
2. Benjamin had a tithable son (age 16) in 1803
3. A grandson of Julius recalled Julius having a brother
   named Larkin

Regarding point #2, [70] shows Benjamin adding a tithable
in 1802, not 1803. Tax records for 1803-1805 are missing,
and in 1806 he is back down to a single tithable which
suggests that Julius has already left for Kentucky.

1810 - Julius is on the Mercer Co., Ky. tax list [1]

1811 - Julius appears in Mercer Co., Ky. court
records [1]

    c. 1830 - He moves to Posey Co., Ind.

1868 - Wife Sarah dies in Posey Co. and leaves a
will naming sons Paschal and James, daughter Angeline Harmon,
and granddaughters Frances, Angeline, and Mary J. Pruett, and
Elizabeth Broyles. Son Hiram, unmentioned, has moved to Illinois
and son Allen is dead. The granddaughters, we assume, are orphaned
or half-orphaned. Keith believes the Pruett girls are the daughters
of Mary who married Simon Pruett. Unfortunately Simon's children,
per the 1850 census of Vanderburgh Co., are Francis (male),
Moses, Allen, Sarah A., Mary J. (Note the son named Allen). This
is not a great match. The Elizabeth Broyles who is mentioned
might be the daughter of son Allen.

Keith gives Julius a daughter Lucy, and we find a marriage in
Gibson Co. between Lucy Ann Briles and Samuel Prewit, so there's
another possibility as to the source of the Prewit children.
Searches for Samuel and Lucy Ann have been fruitless so far, which
is what one might expect if their children were orphans.

The census records show that Julius had four sons, three
of whom we find in Gibson and Posey Co. records. The fourth
son appears to be Allen Broyles who got land in Gibson Co. in
1839 but lived in Jefferson Co., Ky. Another possibility is
Samuel Briles who married in Gibson Co. in 1849, but his age and
name spelling (Briles) suggest he is a son of Tobias Briles
in Harrison Co., Ind.

10 Apr 1832 - Julius receives a patent for 80 acres in Posey Co.
[256]

1 Aug 1839 - Allen Briles "of Posey Co." gets an 80 acre grant
for land in southern Gibson Co.

1 Oct 1840 - James Briles "of Posey Co." gets a nearby grant
of 80 acres.
