Allen's assignment as a son of Julius is based on the fact
that he got land in Gibson Co. close to his brother James.
Gibson and Posey are neighboring counties.

He is assumed to be the eldest child given the census records
and what is known about the birth years of his brothers.

After his untimely death his widow Lucy remarried and raised
her two Broyles children in her new household.

1 Aug 1839 - Allen Briles "of Posey Co." gets an 80 acre grant
for land in southern Gibson Co. bordering on Posey Co.
