MRS. CATHERINE BRILES PASSES AWAY TUESDAY
Mrs. Catherine Briles, 84, widow of Cyrus Briles, died at her
home on North Third street, at 11:30 o'clock Tuesday night Jan. 19, 1937.
She was born in Indiana, Jan. 15, 1853, daughter of Ehud Hughes
and Elmira Bowman Hughes, and is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Kathryn Lang of Stone Bluff; four sons, William, Covington; Berne,
Kingman; David, Veedersburg and Cyrus, Indianapolis, 28 grandchildren,
nine great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nancy Gilmore at Gessie.
Funeral services were held at Howard chapel, Thursday afternoon at
1 o'clock, with burial at Hopewell cemetery.
