Allen's father is unknown.  Presumably he was born out of
wedlock.

 7 Oct 1833 - "Allen Broyles & Elizabeth Reins his mother & all 
the heirs of Robbert Reins deceist" sell 111 acres to Robert 
Thrasher in Monroe Co., VA.  Those who signed the deed are
Allen Broyles, Elizabeth Broyles, John Buckland, Mary Buckland, 
Elizabeth Reins, Alicy Reins, and Peter Reins.  Elizabeth Broyles 
is apparently Robert's widow.  Mary Buckland was wife of John 
Buckland.  Alicey Reins appears to be an unknown daughter.  
Elizabeth Reins is the daughter "Betsey".  [86]K:718  Son Simeon 
Rains is apparently not of age at this time.

       1850 - Elizabeth is living with the John Copeland family 
in the census of Monroe Co., Va.  Her age is given as 70.  [1]
